Here’s a great article on home brewing and it’s effect on the beer market of today.
Drinkers began to envision a new role for home-brew: Instead of functioning as a cheap do-it-yourself alternative to well-made commercial beers, why couldn’t it function as a well-made do-it-yourself alternative to cheap commercial beers?
In the 11th century, Vikings, Indians, and Irish monks collide on the shores of North America in an historically unknown epic adventure of exploration, personal glory, and religious dominance. Two stranded Vikings wade through a grand primeval landscape as they struggle for survival while still in the grip of their Norse ways.
As if the film’s synopsis and trailer aren’t enough, the reported soundtrack of Burzum, Morbid Angel, Dimmu Borgir, Judas Priest and Queens of the Stone Age make this a must see.
It’s pretty easy to wear warm clothes on just about every part of your body except for your face. As far as I can tell, the main reason that cold-weather facial attire is somewhat socially taboo is because it generally obscures the identity of the person wearing it. Despite all of the progress our society has made towards accepting and treating all people fairly, we are still yet to escape the notion that a person in a balaclava (or ski mask) is generally up to no good. The “Identity Preserving Balaclava” is my solution to the social stigma associated with the identity concealing effect of the average balaclava.

Touch and Go Records, founded in late 1980 and a beacon of independent music worldwide, are trimming the fat by no longer providing manufacturing and distribution services for many other labels such as Atavistic, Drag City, Kill Rock Stars and Merge. What this exactly means for the smaller labels is currently unclear, but one can surmise that it’s not really the best time to shop around for replacement services.
As for Touch and Go?
“Touch and Go will be returning to its roots and focusing solely on being an independent record label. We’ll be busy for a few months working closely with the departing labels and scaling our company to an appropriate smaller size after their departure. It is the end of a grand chapter in Touch and Go’s history, but we also know that good things can come from new beginnings.”
